This piece is fairly self evident , After reading five or six Articles at the time about the over prescription of drugs in our society and the adverse causes it has on our Health. One story in particular about an Australian Doctor in a Nursing Home who Halved the medical Prescriptions of his patients and the mortality rates were lowered significantly. prescription drugs save lives every day and that is a very good unique selling point , which is taken advantage of by some Pharmaceutical companies . I tried to make the pills colorful and enticing like sweets. Similar to the wall of painkillers that used to be in my Chemist behind the counter. In contrast i painted lichen on the left shoulder, it is a composite organism and it is a very good bio indicator and thrives in good clean air conditions depending on which species it is .I chose this to represent Nature and the effectiveness it has on our welfare. whenever i see it in abundance in Nature it is always a beautiful scenic area. I am aware of several styles that work in my sub consciousness while painting . regarding this one new objectivity comes to mind . while several painting styles from the National gallery have surfaced also.
