Art Description

Painting: Oil on Canvas.

When I looked at the two trees growing next to each other reminded me of two brothers. It was fall and one already turned golden and the other was still green. It reminded me of competition that can exist between siblings. That is the story behind this portrait. When I was young I remember laying on the grass looking up on the sky through tree branches and at the sky. Seeing the abstract shapes the tree branches and clouds created. As I got older I learned about the oxygen and other products the trees provide that are needed and used every second of our lives. Later I learned about the abuses and how the trees get cleared in the Amazon and different parts of the world. This series is a homage to the wonderful and magnificent presence of trees in our daily lives.
