About The Artwork
I grew up hearing about the great depression from my parents and my mother always thought it was going to come back and I grew up in a house of fear of the next great depression coming back. As a kid I loved the juiciness and freedom of painting as an organic response to my environment growing up. Finger painting to me was the greatest thing ever in kindergarten and nursery school and it was a way to let go and and be wild. My relationship to painting is still the same and its a place to let go and be wild.

My work is very different from one to the next. Lately I have been making action stain paintings on acid free water color paper. I like capturing unknown surrealist landscapes that occur by chance. I can't tell you much about these magical places but they hold my interest long term and I am held in a perpetual state of wonder about where they might be and what they mean.
