This series of painting is created based on “Moira”, a story CD of Sound Horizon. Moira means destiny in greek. The story resonates in my heart when the hero feels powerless, fury and not willing to accept his own destiny under the power of Moira. This is similar to our feeling face the powerful current of the times and state apparatus. We may face the same situation as the characters that we cannot control our own destiny but we still got the final freedom: to choose our attitude towards destiny: to accept, to rebel, or even escape from choosing. The image of moira, which is the inexorable destiny given when one is born, is expressed by the DNA strip. It turns into the symbol of Thanatos, implying that man is mortal. The double helix structure of DNA correlates that Elefseus’s destiny is tied up with Artemisia’s destiny.
