time traveller Painting

The vessel for this piece is a morris traveller simply because most people that lived through the sixties can relate to this car by association.the construction of it with its segmented panels enabled me to fit in as many different aspects of that era.The woodwork is painted in oil paint which is more suitable for manipulation with a dry brush to create the grain effect.the blue and monochrome panels of the painting are in acrylic for quick layering.the rest of the car parts are in oil. i wanted with this piece to encapsulate as much British iconic talent as was possible to envoke memories of that great decade. the images are colour linked with red to create balance.there are references to left handedness as i am my initials and year of birth are on the number plate and a sculpturer by barbera hepworth who is local to me.my uncle also had one of these cars, so fond memories.
