Sam Luger is an oil/mixed media artist who has been creating art for more than 20 years, showing at art shows in Minnesota, New Mexico and Arizona. Sam’s creative career started in Minneapolis as an image editor and color restoration artist, where she made the use of color and composition a way of life. Color theory in this professional arena has been an inspiration as well as a strong basis for her paintings since relocating to the Southwest. Elements such as the determination and beauty of nature along with the grid of 16th century ornamental design co-exist in a visual way to create a metaphor for life. Ornamentation provides a structure craved, while colors are moods, and insets act as windows for thought, memory or emotion. Translucency and ever-evolving rusted elements co-exist as mercurial qualities layered like our changeable life experiences.
