Art Description

Painting: Oil, Phototransfer, Pastel, Pencil on Wood.

Inspired by the wonderful 1977 NASA action of including 2 golden "voyager records" discs into the spacecraft, currently around 22 billion kilometers away from earth in interstellar space, still sending data... here is my take on that one, my message....

My main motive is the search for a new beauty in the contradiction of our reality. As it is with a good poem, the poetical sound, the lyrical vibe, needs to ignite the reader. The semantic level can gradually get discovered. Ambiguities are to be tolerated and withstood – it should not be too comfortable. If I immediately know what’s going on, it is getting boring. A painting should remain a mystery.

My works are layered, as i drip paint, scrawl words on the canvas, and mixe mediums including oil and pastels, crayon, pencil, marker, and digital photographs which i transfer to the canvas with an analogue technique. I have a very clear imagination of the approximate. Working with opposites, I mix abstraction with the tangibility of the visible world.

Every painting on wood comes with a professional suspension and is ready to hang. Also included in the price is a very premium framing with a floating shadow fuge.
