About The Artwork
I see snapshots of hinterlands everywhere, unusual scenes that captivate me. I remember stood over my sink and noticing how incredible the different marks that had formed round the plug hole. There are two versions of this painting. Originally I was going to just paint the plug hole, I wanted to create a strong metaphorical narrative and uneasiness by using dead spiders. What that is I hope is something a little different for each viewer. This painting is framed in oak that has been hand finished to match the individual colours within the painting
