About The Artwork
LIFE-SIZE ADAM & EVE OUT AT LAST AND NOW ON SHOW AT THE CHATEAU DU FRECHOU IN FRANCE. I have painted male and female nudes all my life, and I have returned to the subject of Adam & Eve regularly (see other examples on this site). In 1995 my exhibition “Adam & Eve and Other Nudes” in Melbourne, Australia sold well and got positive media coverage—but I also received some hate mail about the subject matter. This summer Adam & Eve are the centrepiece of my exhibition “Adam & Eve and other Paintings” at the nearby Chateau du Frechou in SW France. (I have also painted the Chateau which you can also see on this site). This acrylic diptych painting of Adam & Eve is on four canvas panels. The overall dimensions are two metres by two metres and the figures themselves are fully life size. (Adam and Eve are each a few inches under six feet tall.) Both paintings are for sale at €1,000 each ($1,150). But, if bought together, you can have both for a total cost of €1,600 ($1,840).
