Aniball was inspired by anatomical illustration posters. I use familiar objects within contemporary art, from the 'Duchampian' notion of the ready-mades. Ready-mades are utilised by heavy weight contemporary artists. I like to use these themes with the medium of paint, as obsessively working to recreate realism in another form, automatically becomes self-contradictory to the very thought of a ‘ready-made’. I am interested in the idea of manmade objects having movement and a life with the absence of man and the logical physical display of a 3D sculpture. So that animals, objects, themes and clichés exist in the same aesthetic in a surrealistic world made up of ironic naturalness.
