I was very impressed by the paintings I saw in those museums in northern Denmark. Places like Hjørring, Aalborg and Skagen showed in their museums that kind of art that was deeply connected to people’s life in this unique landscape so close by the seas (baltic and northern sea). I was a child at that time and my father explained to me how painting effects work. Since that time, art is a wonderful part of my life. It’s a great step from then (1966) to today but in between I could study the work of all these wonderful artists, especially the outstanding art of a group of artists that is called “Vraa udstillingen”. I learned land- and seascape painting through their paintings by watching and analysing them during uncountable visits. With these impressions in mind, I want to underline the respect for the people living and working here with my art and of course love for nature’s beauty at this wonderful place.
