About The Artwork
This work (created in 2016) is the second painting I created of the Fragments series, a project where I use my references and interests to talk about myself with the intention of turning the viewer into my confident. In this occasion I fragment two different realities in black and white: A seated man smoking from a flyer I got in a photography exhibition when I lived in Madrid in 2007; and a drawing of a half-naked woman I did at that time. As usual I use acrylic on canvas because its fast drying combined with its fluidity allow me to create a painting where the most important thing is the experience of the act of of creation. The surface mixes large brushstrokes derived from an expressionist manner with a drips style as a consequence of American Abstract Expressionism. The painting is signed and dated on the front. This work is unframed and it is shipped streched in an extra strong cardboard box.

Fernando Rodríguez Salas (Barcelona, 1983.) was graduated at University of Fine Arts in Granada in 2005 after studying Graphic Design in Middlesbrough (UK). Fernando started working as a Graphic Web Designer in Madrid but later he was attacted by acting and he started to took part in plays, short films and commercials. At this point Fernando explain: " It doesn't matter any medium I use, wathever acrylic, watercolor, marker or graphite, the most important thing is the experience of the moment and the search of the impulse to react to a stimulus, These two princples I found them out when I worked as an actor in Madrid; and in this way, I can start with an idea in mind but I change it, driven by my instinct, in order to come upon new findings." His last exhibitions were at the Affordable Art Fair in Milan and at Van Gogh Art Gallery in Madrid, where he showed part of the Dark Paintings series.
