About The Artwork
I have done a series of paintings and hooked rugs in traditional lobster trap hoops. These wooden hoops (also called bows) lend themselves to a half-moon shape story. Every May and June the lobster traps chug pass my window; their traps laden with lobster. Some fisherman use the new plastic traps but a lot of the older fishermen like the wooden traps. These rustic traps are the ideal frame for a lobster fishing scene. These pictures make an inviting addition to a marine inspired room or a unique conversation piece.
