The most expensive painting of 2015, Paul Gauguin's oil painting „When will you marry me“ was painted within one day in 1892. So did I in 2015 - The process not only made me understand Gauguin's technique but also gave me a glance at the artists feelings. Disassembling and reassembling each stroke and color mix, walking through the hole process back and forth again allowed me to dive into this piece of art and truly understand. Fugacity may be one of many angles of view my additions in gold, put on top of one of the beautiful faces try to challenge.

Sebastian Schager (born 1984) has enrolled at the Unversity of Vienna to study the history of the arts after having graduated from a college for graphicand communications design in 2007. The same year he founded PERFEKT WORLD with his partners. Next to his artistic and commercial work within PERFEKT WORLD operating as a art collective as well as a design agency he mainly focuses on curating and running a small gallery and showroom founded in 2013 (PERFEKT BOX) and the related Artists-in-Residence program at Viennese MuseumsQuartier. In 2013 Sebastian Schager founded the screen print series PERFEKT PRINTS with artist and printmaker Andreas Nader which still is cointinued. The project brings together international art to young audiences and also seeks to dissolve barriers. All curative and creative activity is subject to the agenda of bolstering and promoting young art. The art collective PERFEKT WORLD worked at the intersection of artistry and commercial performance, between advertisement and white cube. A constant transfer of aesthetics between both worlds is taking place. Commercial services are run through the filter of artistic - conceptional reflection which points out commercial aesthetics in artistic - sculptural works exceedingly. Commercially the group was predominantly booked by clients like Red Bull or Absolut Vodka to develop special solutions which lie between both worlds of art and commerce and manage to draw bridges between them. After nine years the group decided to discontinue to work together as a collective which ends a period of experiments and cooperations in different fields. Seemlessly Sebastian Schager started his work as a solo artist and continues his work as an independent curator. In 2015 the gallery name has been changed to Jan arnold Gallery and is now run by Sebastian Schager and three other curators. The same year Sebastian Schager was asked to curate MQ‘s Streetartpassage and which he still continues. In 2016 Sebastian Schager founded ARTIS.LOVE combining his work in art as well as his work as a curator.
