About The Artwork
I've started working on this small painting in 2018 during my stay in southern Mexico, than I've been returning to it on and off for about a year altogether adding layer after layer - searching for the kind of vibrance that would make it feel complete. I've used quite everything here - from acrylic, charcoal, egg tempera, mineral and organic pigments, soil from two continents, oil paints, gold leaf and natural resins. the surface is gessoed thin mdf wood panel And as the title suggests the work is dedicated to the great Odilon Redon - something here about the use of colour reminds me of his later works.
