About The Artwork

In my work I strive to explore both the uncontrolled traveling of the ink and watercolor, versus the controlled lines of the pencil and the color pencils that I use. I work in Layers, starting out with the uncontrolled elements which I then try to assemble into interesting compositions, in which the eye can travel and explore. I also aim to balance the elements in my compositions, and leaving them with space to breath. This piece is made on 300 grams acid free watercolor paper, size 40 x 29,7 cm. The painting itself is 36 x 26,6 cm, which means there's a small white border around the image.

Born and raised in Copenhagen, Denmark. I grew up in a very artistic environment, as both my parents are artists, and taught students at different art schools, back then. Went to several art schools, and received private lessons in painting and drawing throughout my teenage years. A few years after graduating in textile design, I got employed at the textile workshop (costume department) at The Royal Danish Theatre. My work there is extremly creative, innovative and inspiring. Apart from that, I never stopped creating my own art. Which I will be presenting to you here. Over the years I've been working with diffrent medias, and I will probably never stop exploring new medias/ways of working. Words that describes what I like to investigate in my artworks would be: Movements - Organic/natural shapes - Transparency - Layers - Textures - Granulation - Paint that Travels - The uncontrolled versus the controlled.
