Picasso's Weeping woman series was my source of inspiration for this painting. It is heavily textured and was made using acrylic on a very thick piece of handmade Khadi paper from India. At its widest it measures 39" (just under one metre), and at its tallest 56.5" (almost one and a half metres). Being handmade the edges of the paper have a rough finish, with the top and bottom edges curving outwards slightly. The paper is also creased in parts, I feel this aesthetic complements the subject matter of the piece. Please refer to detail images for a closer look. The painting is unframed and is not fitted with hanging hardware. It will be shipped rolled in a large, specially designed tube. The artwork is signed, titled and dated on the front. It is also signed, titled and dated on the reverse in pencil as well as being stamped.
