I absolutely love raku-fired pottery. Since I don’t own a kiln, nor am I a pottery artist, trying to capture the essence of them in a painting was my goal. The paintings are on 24” x 24" x 1.5" museum quality gallery wrapped canvas. It is wired and ready to hang. I used red and black acrylic paint only, mixing them to achieve a very elegant color and feeling. The texture is created with acrylic mediums. Raku means "enjoyment", "comfort" or "ease" in Japanese.
