About The Artwork

#7 of my Stillness Series This semi-abstract lakescape is inspired by the colors of the spring. The composition is marked by simplicity and stillness, reflecting the peaceful nature of the scene. The clear and calm waters of the lake dominate the foreground, creating a sense of depth and perspective. The reflection of the sky on the surface of the water is a delicate juxtaposition of abstract shapes, capturing the essence of the whimsical yet peaceful atmosphere. The warm breeze that blows through the scene is like a soft embrace, inviting us to be carefree and embrace a moment of imagination. Sealed with semi-gloss gel and UV varnish to protect it from dust, yellowing and fading. Comes with Certificate of Authenticity. Featured in "New This Week" Collection.

Alissa is a contemporary landscape artist from North Vancouver, Canada. Working primarily in acrylics, she often uses abstract and impressionistic styles in her paintings. She started painting as a child and pursued her passion further by studying at the Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto and Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver. Through her education, Alissa has developed her own visual and conceptual style, that was then translated through her graphic design works. Currently, she is an artist capturing the beauty of nature in her paintings. Alissa captures the placidity of the West Coast in her semi-abstract works in acrylics. She aims to convey her authentic impressions of the places, rather than depicting a representational or a descriptive view of the landscapes. Through her subjective interpretation, Alissa transforms the landscapes into collective fragments using colors, shapes, and textures. She aims at the creation of tranquility in the mind of the onlooker. Through a process of envisioning, painting and contemplating, she consciously intends to convey her impression of the peacefulness of nature. Each stroke of her brush is imbued with intuitive and meditative energy, reflecting her profound connection to the natural world. Her paintings evoke a sense of wonder and awe, transporting the viewer to a world of placidity and serenity. Through her art, Alissa invites us to pause and reflect on the beauty and tranquility that surrounds us. She has extensive experience teaching painting and has showcased her artworks in numerous juried group exhibitions across the North Shore and Vancouver. Her works can be found in private collections in Canada, the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, India, South Korea, Sweden, Australia and Italy. She has collaborated with Saatchi Art on a hospitality project in San Diego and worked for Overture Andalucia in New Mexico, USA. www.alissakimtjen.com https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xlRqYVT3tvA
