About The Artwork

The Blue Tram is a mixed media artwork. The painting was created with an underpainting of pencil, ink, watercolor and acrylic. Once dry, the final layer was applied in pastel. The scene is from Johnson Road in Wanchai, Hong Kong during a clear evening after a rainy afternoon. The original is now sold and is in a private collection.

William John Sims was born in England and currently lives in Wanchai, Hong Kong. William studied at the Hong Kong Academy of Fine Art, although he is largely self-taught. He is a founding member of the Asia International Artists Association ("AIAA"). His works can be found in numerous international collections. William was formerly a Diplomat in the British Foreign Service and during his time with the Government was posted to Asia, Africa and the Middle-East.
