About The Artwork
Inspired by watching a cyclist in Tokyo ride haphazardly fown a street. it was a hot day but the cyclist completely shrouded in a winter coat draped over the top of their head and down over their legs. They appeared as an apparition seemed very unreal. I hope the viewer has their own interpretation of the shapes, marks, textures and colours. Ultimately I wanted the painting to be a state of flux and fluid, to come in and out of focus, to be mirage like.
