Immersed in the rich tapestry of Greek mythology, I've derived inspiration to name a collection of overpainted photographs. This anthology unfolds across four distinct series, each intricately weaving around a central persona—a woman who, in varying moments, embodies the essence of a goddess or serves as a mythic symbol harkening back to enchanting tales of fairies. The genesis of this collection emerges from a fictive self-portrait, rooted in the ancient name Melusine—a symbolic representation of both goddess and fairy. Through the act of painting over the monochromatic photographs, I intentionally bridge the realms of literature and artistic craftsmanship. The deliberate choice to steer clear of a specific stylistic focus allows for a fluid integration of creative expressions, forging a dynamic synthesis where the mythic and the artistic converge. In each stroke, the goddess and fairy coalesce, creating a visual narrative that transcends time and tradition.
