1000 - Limited Edition of 20 Photograph

On my first roll ever I found a street image among the first ten images that I would show with my finest work today (three men on three benches on car/passenger ferry NYC). From that grew my love and ability to take 'street' photographs of people or just of 'tings', but I always had ability to take other genres. A landscape photo is one of m to tree viewed photos of all time; I am at home wandering streets, alleys, sidewalks and more, and exploring strange pathways and places, but my credo is to take whatever imageI see that pleases me I am drawn to parallel lines and also to good to excellent compositioon and in most of mhy caputres, even thos etaken in a hurry, try for best composition; good composition in any image may elevate, just as in 'people' photos a great expression or gesture also can elevate. I had passed a material hard by car number of times but had never explored before. One day I made a point to enter the yard and explore. I was drawn to these piles of concrete pipes -- 'culverts' readily made for picking by specially equipped machine acting as crane which lists each length, and lowers them end to end in a trench, the are joined and sealed, the covered over and voila, sewage .is suddenly a problem somewhere at the far away outlet, but NIMBY (not in my back yard) It did not take me me long in scoping this scene to realize that rather than getting close up the best capture wold be made by treating each pile of culvert as a separate subject, then organiz ing them into a composition in my viewfinder. This is the resolt, a capture with parallel lines, geometric shapes,a range of grayscale and to me,good to better balance, which also helps many captures. I feel comfortable letting this image appears as vehicle to demonstrate that I hope to create images other than street and to make them 'top notch as I hope this has come. The moment I framed this I recall being pleased.
