Mobiles handily fixed to vast tripods suspended, as though they were a Sinar, above their newest victims, soon shall be able to capture detail equal to 5x4 film, if they dont already-having far greater depth of field. This was made with an 808 Nokia that records only in jpeg, but at 38MP sensor resolution, as was the other one. Even as close as this there is no need to stop down the aperture. There is no vibration from a mirror, and quite obviously this mid 2012 machine is the harbinger of a miniature series sometime that will eventually replace everything.

I am the photojournalist, born in Marylebone, London in 1949. I have had a number of occupations and abandoned photography completely between 1982 and 2006, when the destruction of Cardiff City centre to build a 2 billion euro shopping mall had results so visually fascinating in terms of our then altered behaviours that i started a long-term project that went on to include sports fans, flower shows and carnival parades, adding up to a reasonably comprehensive take on what we do in town when we are able. Unable to continue this now, I attempt other subjects.
