Rodelio Mendoza was born November 26, 1962, into a working class family living in Manila Philippines. His mother was a dressmaker who later inspired him in becoming a fashion designer. When the family immigrated in the US, his mother opened a sewing contractor company where Rodelio learned most of construction of garments and the rudiments of fine tailoring. At the age of 25 after acquiring a degree in fashion design., He was given an opportunity by his parents to open a company under his own label Rodelio Collection. His first collection made of wool jersey, wool melton and combined with leather was well received at fine boutiques such as Amen Wardy and department stores Bergdorf Goodman. Although short lived due to lack of financing., He held a job at a company named IIF heavily embellished, multi media and complicated style lines that earned him a reputation for the most sought after and highly paid fashion designer in Los Angeles. He filled a niche in the industry to the present day. Encompasses dramatic style of clothing he design that became a signature of his later work as an independent designer, photographer, and a painter.
