ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Printed on archival acid-free paper Hahnemuhle 300 g / m2 on an 11-color Epson Stylus Pro 9900 with the author's signature on the back. Emptiness and fullness, an implicit, hazy space. This part of the series "Agoraphilia" is about Zen Buddhism, its aesthetics, its principles. About the comprehension of the sacred silence.

I was born and raised in Moscow, in a family of artists. Now I live in Moscow. I used to create photos for books, but now I realized that I can express my thoughts about the world, its history, and its needs through photography. My sources of inspiration are artists such as William Turner, Odilon Redon, Christian icons and frescoes, Etruscan art and much more, as well as contemporary photographers. My photos are about the inner world, the world of dreams, the world of memories, the world of meditation, about the images that come to me when the familiar reality recedes. This is a reflection on the world, on archetypes, on the originals. I disembody everyday things in order to fuse them into a completely different picture than what I see in front of me. The camera is my third eye. And often, until I start taking photos, I don't know what that third eye will see. Sometimes he sees the earth as it was "in the beginning", just emerging from chaos, sometimes he sees the storm from which the Lord spoke with Job, or a flash of light signifying, perhaps, the appearance of an angel. I love the spaciousness, the sense of spaciousness in pictures and photographs. I interpret this feeling in my works to achieve a sense of freedom, a free breath. I explore the properties of air and light in my landscapes and want for all of us a visual detox, which in my opinion can be achieved by an abstract image and its free interpretation.
