Photography: Color, Digital on Paper.
This is the colour version of one of the images in a series of studio-based, monochrome studies of plants and flowers, exploring the marvels of natural forms and textures, dramatically lit with a single light source. All the monochrome images were exhibited in 1977 at the Photographers’ Gallery in London, where some visitors perceived them as sexually suggestive, almost erotic in nature.
For the first time, this image is being offered for sale to collectors as a limited edition, fine art print of 1/10.
The original photograph was taken in 1974 using a Zanza Bronica 6x6cm camera and Kodak Ektachrome film. The transparency was recently scanned and is being printed by the photographer using Epson’s ultra-smooth, Hot Press Bright cotton rag archival 330gsm paper and utilising Epson printing technology and the associated K3 pigment inks. The prints have an extraordinary density of blacks, with good contrast, and hold even the finest detail. Each image is printed on an A2 sheet with white borders. The surface of these prints is delicate, so we recommend that they are mounted behind glass - they look splendid in a ‘floating frame’, using non-reflecting, gallery-type glass.
Milan Svanderlik is a DIGI-Graphie Artist.
Each print is signed, numbered, dated, and titled on the back, and is certified on the white border with the artist’s DigiGraphie embossing stamp.
