This Haitian statuette stood on the terrace of a colonial dwelling in Martinique, it represented a protective deity of the house. The ambiguity was too great and too strong not to dwell on it. I like the controversy that comes with this photograph. Some are fascinated, others do not support it, but it leaves no one indifferent and triggers feverish comments. Alain Lacki (born in 1954) is a French photographer and artist born in Paris and based in the West Indies in Guadeloupe. His work can be described as an imaginary vision inspired and diverted from reality by combining several photographs to make it as realistic as possible. Alain works on personal projects and with sponsors, although these personal works take the most important place today. Unlike traditional photography, Alain does not capture the immediacy of everyday life, he seeks the different elements that allow him to build and materialize his ideas. Finally his main difficulty is to find a way to photograph the impossible, that's what makes it the spice.
