Creatures from folk imaginary brought to life through the lens of Iva Lulic's camera. Iva is a very well-known Croatian fine-art photographer who creates amazing images, thus restoring old folk beliefs. The photo evokes memories of rural people's everyday life. A number of folk beliefs and folk tales are still preserved in the memories of Donja Kupčina’s residents. One of the stories is about an angel with a towel and washbowl that follows those children who have forgotten to wash their face in the morning. At noon when the bell rings, the angel pours out the water. This story teaches children to wash their face in the morning. -no digital manipulation -the work is signed and numbered by the artist -Fine Art Photography print (Hahnemühle Photo Rag) -large edition limited to 1/13 plus 2AP, size 70 x 100 cm (printed with 2cm white border) -also available as medium edition (1/20) at 50x70 -for all other sizes not seen on Saatchi, please enquire and it can be made available -full series at www.ivalulic.com

Creatures from folk imaginary brought to life through the lens of Iva Lulic's camera. Iva is a very well-known Croatian fine-art photographer who creates amazing images, thus restoring old folk beliefs. She already made several serials of photos representing the legendary creatures from folklore. Iva Lulić, with his directed photos, captures myths and old national beliefs characteristic of her country. They are photographed at authentic locations throughout Croatia. She does not use computer manipulation in her work, but each photo is carefully directed and designed using only natural and artificial light combined with long exposures attempted to portray supernatural creatures from Croatian mythology. The imaginary world becomes real in her projects without any use of modern computer effects. The world in which real life and fairy tales encounter is achieved by the elaborate conceptualization, the deliberate use of light and color in photography, and the perceptible play of the eye - from above, from below. Autumn projects successfully combine quality photographic and scenographic work with elements of social, humanitarian, and educational activity.
