While walking through the old market in Nablus, Palestine, I passed this man making parts for argileh water pipes. He saw my interest in his store, this window overlooking the cobbled street, and he swung open part of the front counter to let me step inside, although there was really no where to go - the floor was taken over with old brass lamps, spare auto parts, and water pipes. I stepped one foot in, almost toppled over a mountain of precariously stacked metal tins, thanked him for his hospitality, and gingerly stepped out.
