About The Artwork

Cover of the Beautiful series The “Beautiful” series was created out of the need to create something visually and aesthetically pleasing and nice in perception. Klaudia, Joanna, Magda, Dagmara. Audacious and beautiful in their youth. Each of them caught unaware. The photographs constitute an attempt to capture this moment - what is the most beautiful at such a young age. The titles of the photographs are a record of the girls’ comments and behaviour during the session. Agitated and excited. Interesting and scared at the same time. Just beautiful. All photographs were taken by way of traditional analogue technology, without any manipulation neither at the time of shooting nor at the post-production stage. All works are the perfect representation of gelatin silver prints made by myself. The cover has been designed and made by Krzysztof Jurkowski. The author’s screen print made on leather and glass is the result of many trials and laborious preparation. Artist. Specializing in exhibition and fine art photography, particularly in all aspects concerning artwork framing as well as its longevity. All photographs have been created using the traditional, analogue technique, without any adjustment while taking a photograph or during the post-production stage. The scenario is life itself. The works concern intimate lives of people presented in the photographs. They have become a sort of creative records, documenting places, events, time and people, who sometimes knew each other well or not so well. They activate the innermost recesses of the human mind and soul that we often don't want to talk about or even know about. They also represent a part of a bigger story - closely related to myself. It's the darkest journey deep into myself and my dear friends. A journey that will bring a lot of answers or maybe will help find a piece of someone else or yourself. Some of the series have been made in a span of several or more years, the whole project has been emerging before my own eyes for the last twenty years. A lot of the elements present in the photographs may be found in other series. It's one complete concept that has no end. All black and white photographs are perfect copies of the Baryte prints made by myself. To some extent The Film School helped me to find the meaning of life again, while working in a big city taught me to see things differently and avoid people who want to cheat you all the time. Only one thing is left, a question - what next?
