This image was shot as an abstract image in a disused basalt quarry at Bombo headland from the 1880s south of Sydney. The basalt pillars have rich textures and colours, an igneous rock from the late Permian, the daubs of red and orange from the weathering that has accumulated over the last century since the quarry ceased operating. The blue-metal stone was originally quarried to build roads, but now it's a great place to take abstract photographs.

I was born in Trinidad and Tobago and travelled all over the world with my parents before settling in The UK for my education. I went to Sherborne School and Reading University before moving to London to be a photographic assistant to many different photographers including Anthony Blake and Spencer Rowell. Then I moved to Australia to further my career in photography that is now 35 years long as a commercial and art photographer in Sydney. I have had several exhibitions including Transformation 1992, Lifeforce 1996, Sahaja 2000, and have completed new spiritual works, The Chakras, 2014 that are shown here on Saatchi Art. I now also teach photography with Alfonso Photo tours in Sydney.
