The 2nd largest building on earth (2,550,000 cubic metres 90,000,000 cu ft in volume) is the Palace of the Parliament of Romania. This gigantic building has been ordered by Nicolae Ceausescu (1918–1989), the dictator of Communist Romania. In 1990, Australian-born business and media magnate Rupert Murdoch wanted to buy the building for US$1 billion, but his bid was rejected. As of 2008, the Palace of the Parliament is valued at $3.4 billion, making it also the most expensive administrative building in the world. The artist added to the photo of the colossal building a layer inspired by the mood of the Romanians. An intense cold blue with bubbles of hope that history will soon be replaced by a bright future. A silhouette of caricatured Ceausescu - looking back to the past - can be imagined in the blue hue. This artwork is printed on canvas

Discover my photographic life, a world of impressive colour combinations, natural patterns, intriguing angles and shades. Get into the moods of global citizens, outlines of fascinating landscapes and the energy of modern architecture that tell a story. My name is Brigitte. I am a Swiss photographer graduated from the New York Institute of Photography and the Prager Fotoschule. In 1994, my husband and I moved to Cameroon. From there on, I relocated every two to three years to another country such as Egypt, China, Guam/USA, UAE, Mongolia, Philippines and Romania. Today, I am back home in Switzerland. During these times of extensive travel, I enjoyed great inspiration through the many different cultures, architectures and the wonderful colorful world. I had started to develop my photographic skills in the fields of architecture, landscape and people, but also reportages have soon become a focus.
