About The Artwork

Michele J Garcia morphs and transforms her subjects, juxtaposing intense saturated colors with striking compositions. Originals from this series are printed on aluminum to highlight the hues, shapes and sheen. This print is protected by a high-gloss UV coating which keeps your image resistant to water and dust over time. Expertly produced in one of the world's only photo labs to be G7 Color Certified, this metal print has ultra-high definition colors, crisp contours, seamless gradations, and a unique, luminescent finish. Finished with a float mount hanger, this piece is ready to hang right out of the box. Contact Michele J Garcia directly to inquire about limited edition photographic prints on Kodak Professional Endura Premier Metallic Paper. Prints 1 through 10 are artist reserved. Prints 11 through 100 will be offered for sale.

Michele J Garcia is an artist who works with photography. By examining the ambiguity and origination via retakes and variations, Garcia tries to increase the dynamic between audience and author by objectifying emotions and investigating the duality that develops through different interpretations. Her photos are presented with the aim not to provide an idealistic view but to identify where light and the environment are important. Her photos are based on inspiring situations: visions that reflect a sensation of delirium and serene contemplation, combined with subtle details of odd or eccentric, idiosyncratic elements. By contesting the division between the realm of memory and the realm of experience, she creates with daily, recognizable elements, an unprecedented situation in which the viewer is confronted with the conditioning of his own perception and has to reconsider his biased position. Her photos rarely show the complete structure. The results are deconstructed to the extent that meaning is shifted and possible interpretation becomes multifaceted. She can easily imagine her own interpretation without being hindered by the historical reality. Garcia makes work that generates diverse connotations. Associations and meanings collide. Space becomes time and language becomes image. Michele J Garcia currently lives and works in Wichita Falls.
