About The Artwork

Building Brighter Future explores the theme of, or rather, obsession with mass migration, in quite an ironic manner. Derelict crane on the banks of river Thames, in now defunct London Docklands provides sharp contrast between "good old days", romanticised by so many right-wing thinkers and followers, and ruthlessly changing times, inevitably spelling out a new reality. Photograph sold unframed - number of mounting and framing options (sold separately) available after the purchase via direct request. This particular artwork, due to it's size, sent rolled in the tube, 100% value-insured, guaranteed to reach you in impeccable condition. Signed, dated and numbered by the artist (ink on the back), strictly limited edition of 25. Please note that file provided is low-res file to optimize viewing process and protect copyright.

Martynas is an emerging photographer, at the early stages of his artistic journey. Photography always occupied central part of his expression and passion. Since 2009 it became more and more defined, culminating in a few ongoing projects, revolving around street photography and urban storytelling. Martynas does not confine himself to the limits of medium or style, so collage or mixed media artworks are part of his portfolio. Martynas thinks of photography as a final point in that frivolous argument between "Now" and "Then", and it holds even more so for street photography: momentary combination of daily life parts, adding up to absurdity; immediate action, frozen in ultimatum of "Now", and with precisely the same sense of urgency descending into meaningful "Then" - a tale, a moral, a joke - transformed into calm statement of experience.
