Photography: Photography, Gum bichromate prints on Paper.
Identity is the main theme of my work as a photo-media artist. This concept, with its broad meaning has been experimented with by myself and others, using role-play, body language, portraiture and landscape. The self-performing image is a reflection on the situation I am experiencing and the space in which I am interacting. For this work, 'Cabinet of curiosities of Identity', I photographed body sculpture works of myself which I made them to exam my identity through physical observation. Also I used the 19th century photographic printing process, 'Gum bichromates' for the final print to arouse curiosity with the character of subtleness.
These are unique prints on Fabriano papers. The individual print size is 28 x 38 cm and would be 6 separate prints. Each print is signed on the back. As it was installed at an exhibition in Sydney, there are tiny pin holes at the corners.
