Ingrida Rutka was born and live in Riga. Participant of the painting studio "Ģilde" under the direction of the artist Ausma Danemane from 1992-1995. Bachelor's degree at the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology of the University of Latvia in Visual Art. The year 2010 was very impressive in the life of the artist, when life took her to the Republic of South Africa, where she spent six months. During this half year at the other side of the globe became acquainted with many other cultures, habits and lifestyles. Black wood carvings and beautifully printed fabrics at every step, various recycled everyday materials in art and design, this period laid the foundation for further creative activity, it was the genesis of the way forward. In 2018, she obtained a Master's degree in Art at the Department of Textile Art at the Latvian Academy of Arts. Since 2016, she has been actively participating in joint exhibitions of artists in Latvia, Estonia, Italy and Belgium. During 2017-2018 the Erasmus programm she studied at the Lecce Academy of Arts in Italy in the Master's programm. After spending a long time away from Latvia, she discovered Italy from a completely different side. This time opened up other horizons and visions of things. The idea for the Master's thesis Synthesis of Values, led by Professor Aija Baumane, was also realized there, synthesizing the historical elements of Italy and modern attitudes and changes in values, waste generation, as well as the idea of preserving ancient things for future generations. In the spring of 2019, participation in the Biennial of Textile Art in Hacht, Belgium. At the end of 2019, this cycle of works was exhibited in a solo exhibition organized by the artist in Latvia at the Ape City House. The work Run to the Sea presented, is made by continuing and synthesizing the same change of values mentioned above, about nature, the world's waste, pollution. The work was created from 2019-2020. year.
