Canola Field and Pivot Sprinkler - Limited Edition of 15 Photograph

I began photographing in 2001 in response to the irresistible display of color, light, and form in the San Luis Valley of southern Colorado, one of the most dramatic places in the state. The urge to photograph arises as a response to beauty and grandeur while also being an appreciation of how perception and the thought process interact. In short, our stream of consciousness gets interrupted regularly by the world around us (not to mention what comes up inside!), and to pay attention is a way of merging with a larger world, a way of stepping into awe.
