My mother used to amaze me with stories from her Chicago childhood. She fired my imagination with tales of the tenacious people, biting cold winters, the icy blue lake, and steely skyscrapers. Shortly after her death, while wandering alone through that city in late January, I felt the presence of my ancestors like whispering shadows at my side. I lifted my camera to capture these moments as they silently slipped into memories. In Chicago Skies 2, my attraction to architecture converges with my love of soft, muted colors, leading lines, and layered images.

In my fine art work I am drawn to and often create with muted colors and symbolic images-- angels, wings, birds, flowing dresses, ancient statues, and architecture--both modern and medieval. For over twenty years I've owned a photography studio specializing in weddings, portraits and travel images. I've recently been combining my passion for photography with my love for creating using paint, beeswax, glue-- really anything I can experiment and get messy with. My art pieces are feminine--part dream, part reality. They arise out of my inner life where I seek to experience the magical spiritual nature hidden within the visible world.
