ABOUT THE ARTWORK
A collection of motherboards extracted from defunct personal computers. I am interested in the resonance of memories that have passed through these objects, which have evolved into 21st-century uninterpretable hieroglyphics. They were photographed using paper negatives on a 10x8 Deardorf camera to emphasise the otherworldliness of the objects. Shortlisted for the still life category of the 2023 Sony World photography awards

I am a fine art photographer working primarily with hand-crafted large-format analogue photography. Although my subject matter ranges from portraiture to landscape the influence of American abstract artists Ellsworth Kelly, Jackson Pollack and Richard Serra has led me to use photography and in particular the negative image to explore abstraction and harmony created in nature. My methodology references the origins of photography, utilising large format cumbersome cameras, though not the speediest of processes it enables me to create images with a timeless yet contemporary quality.
