ABOUT THE ARTWORK

A group of asian migrants, stuck in the Trieste Silos ruins, waiting for the residence permit, go up to the second floor in the ruins of the Trieste Silos.

The image belongs to the reportage shooted on December 2023 to witness the Balkan route migrants critical situation at the Silos in Trieste. The former wood/cereals Austrian empire warehouse was occupied by mainly Pakistani, Afghanistan and Indian migrants in transit, supported by Saint Egidio Community volunteers and other Trieste citizens of good will. Under freezing winter sky, they survived for months wearing just sandals and sleeping in tents facing the darkest nights with Bora wind or rain, rats and diseases. A step away from downtown.

The whole "Tri(e)ste/Sad Trieste project" was planned to channel donations helping local assistance. The proposed artwork is the unique original exposed during the Tri(e)ste exposition on July 2024 in La Fortezza Art Gallery in Gradisca d' Isonzo. The revenues shall be again used to fund the Community of Saint Egidio in Trieste.

The Fine Art Giclée prints are on Hahnemuehle 100% cotton paper to get best deep blacks and "tridimensional" effect. The image is mounted on a 10 mm Forex very stable panel completed by fine regulation holding plate. I can handwrite messages/dedications on the artwork back on request.

SHIPPING AND RETURNS
Delivery Time:

Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

Time to give back! IMPORTANT: The incomes from the sales of the panels shall be donated. I've never stop photographing since I had gifted by my first Agfamatic 50. Travelling, the reportage became the way to build my reality, the people met teached me most of what I deeply know. The respect for all the cultures met developed. Now it's time to give back, thanking for the fortune I had. The images of my last two expositions talk about the hard life of workers in Asia and Africa and the daily drama of continental migrations. Cause and effect are pretty difficult to be caught in the present misinformation age.I propose a momentary focus on close events to bring us thinking about very far away ones. At the end of the day we are really living under the same sky and we should take more care about each other. Presently I photograph with Olympus OM.
