About The Artwork

Inspired by the English Peak District, a half day walk will take you to the summit of Kinder Scout to view the cities of Leeds, Sheffield and Manchester on a good day. Kinder Scout was the site of the Great mass trespass which was a response to over zealous land laws. The area in and around the Edale basin and Kinder Scout comprises rocks formed approximately 320 million years ago during the Carboniferous Period. During this time, Great Britain was located along the Earth’s equator and was subject to a warmer climate and fluctuations in sea level. Edale itself would have been situated within the Pennine Basin, a region surrounded by isolated upland areas that eroded slowly over time. This eroded material would have been deposited into the Pennine Basin, forming the sandstones and mudstones that comprise the Millstone Grit Group. During times of low sea level, thick sand beds accumulated as river deltas grew further out into the basin, whilst silts and muds were deposited into shallow seas within the basin at times of high sea level. Some deposits even record evidence of small, underwater gravity flows. ORIGINAL PRINT - Limited Edition of 15 hand crafted cyanotype prints. This fine art print meets museum longevity requirements and is carefully hand crafted. Prior to dispatch the print is hand signed and individually numbered. A certificate of authenticity is supplied. Artwork size 16 x 12” (90cm x 60cm) on Arches Platine paper

Jonathan O’Hora b.1988 Nottingham, England. I took up photography in 2007 and quickly enjoyed the visual and communicative nature of photography as non verbal communication. This led me to taking up photography as a hobby and eventually did a college course before going to university to study photography & printmaking. After gaining a masters degree from St. Martin’s College in 2018 I specialised in visual anthropology for my final project and exhibition. Since then I spend time travelling and then caught up in the 2020-2022 period taking lots of pictures and processing them only in 2022. My work mostly focuses on abstraction and photography using old darkroom processes along with digital photographic processes. Often switching back and forth to create something new. I am interested in capturing documents and abandoned places as well as portraits and abstractions.
