ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Limited edition of 10 + 2 a.p. Fine art print on Hahnemühle Fine Art paper signed and numbered on the backside by the artists. Certificate of Authenticity is included. This print is also available in size 48 x 40 inches in edition of 3 + 1 a.p. at. If you want it, please contact us on and we upload it on SAATCHI ART. We made a series of photographs of common simple objects that are going out of use nowadays on Polaroid films employing a particular technique of Polaroid dye transfer onto Watercolor paper. Polaroid films that we used are out of production for several years already and soon will disappear completely. We reproduced original Polaroid transfers on high resolution digital back and created new images in Photoshop using style of iconic artists of the near past who had made great influence on contemporary art.

Elena Koldunova (originally Russian) and Vladimir Klyosov (originally Ukrainian) are professional photographers and visual artists who have been collaborating as the duo Koldunova+Klyosov since 2005. They currently reside and work in the USA. In their personal projects, they explore themes that deeply resonate with them. They firmly believe in the power of beauty, whether it reveals itself in people, places, or objects. Beauty possesses the remarkable ability to attract and captivate, and people usually defend what they love. Through their photos, they aim to capture and express the beauty of the world as they see it and share it with others. They frequently use ultra-large format film, blending analog and digital techniques to achieve a unique expression that combines the magic of film photography with the highest quality of modern digital technology. They appreciate darkroom and alternative processes. Sometimes they print their black and white photographs on cotton papers, which they cover with gold or platinum leaves and sensitive photoemulsion. All their photographs are printed in limited editions. Each of them is the result of meticulous manual work, whether through analog photography and particular printing techniques or complex digital image manipulations.
