About The Artwork
In the small Texas town of Dripping Springs, there is a wastewater discharge permit proposal to dump treated waste water into the pristine waters of onion creek. This work serves as documentation, and an effort of prevention from polluting our natural waterway, as well as our very own drinking water. A portion of the proceeds will go to the non-profit organization, ProtectOurWaterNow.org. As and artist, I am working towards a better change. I am creating beauty to bring awareness to this global issue. Thank you for resting upon my work, I hope the light brings you peace, and an urge to also make a move in helping our environment.

Kara Shaw (b.1973) is an emerging internationally recognized artist. Her paintings have been the subject of multiple group and solo exhibitions, and her work has been featured in various publications. Many of her paintings hang in the homes of private collectors around the world. These works available at Saatchi, are a series of photographs the artist has taken of Onion Creek which is nestled in the Texas Hill Country just outside of Austin. The artist is a founding board member of the non-profit organization, ProtectOurWaterNow.org, or POW who is working tirelessly to prevent the discharge of treated wastewater into the natural waterway. A portion of the proceeds will go to the organization. Kara lives in Driftwood, Texas with her wonderful husband, and two beautiful children.
