About The Artwork

To look is to select. To see is to feel. These are the processes that take place when we encounter an image. I have used the female body to highlight the Feminine that regards all of us: generating and producing force. Beyond the gender differences, beyond the social constraints, beyond the ordinary meanings dictated by a society that wants to see us more and more servants and less masters, there is the simple nature: explosion of strength and desire. The naked body as the ultimate expression of freedom.

Giulia Gasparini is an Italian artist born in Lodi in 1990. She approaches photography very young and 9 years ago she started working as a fashion photographer for agencies, designers and magazines such as Vulkan, Lovesexdance, Splendor, C-Heads, Highsnobiety, Rendez Vouz, GQ Italy, L'Officiel with whom she still collaborates. Many projects have developed over the years, the most important are: We Animals, Bodies, For My Eyes Only, Death is Beauty, Genderless Femininity, Burn Baby Burn, #FreeThePixel, Woman and Mother. In 2015 she participated in a group show with We Animal at the International Fair in Atlanta EC RM, then at the Miit Museum in Turin during '' Italia Arte 2015 '' and in the same year she exhibited her Bodies serie at MFS Parson Fashion Design & Society Exhibition organized by the Parson School in New York where later she lived until the end of 2016. Returning to Italy in 2017, she continued to work shooting fashion campaigns for brands such as Furla, Barbanera Shoes, Patricia Bonaldi and Nike. In the same year Nike chose her as a Brand Ambassador as artist representing female strength. In 2018 in Milan she exposed the project #FreeThePixel, a rebellion against body censorship. Artistic projects, at first purely photographic, have become increasingly rich and multi-faceted, focusing on '' manual post-production '' that includes painting, water, fire and flowers.
