The 74 Sweet Chestnuts which the distinctive feature of the medieval deer park of Halnaker. Their origins are obscure but the park fell into ruin during the Victorian era and is now part of the Goodwood Estate.
This photograph is part of an ongoing series, ‘The Old Ones’ which is a photographic record of the oldest and largest trees surviving in the English county of Sussex.
