About The Artwork

I dreamed of Africa, 2017. This portrait I took in the South African summer of 2017, along the west coast of Eva. It was a typical Western Cape phenomenon - what had started out as a clear blue sky day had turned to a stormy, rainy downpour hours later. I found comfort in seeing the sky and the clouds put on such a show - I knew as I clicked the shutter of my Pentax 6/7 that this fleeting serene moment would prelude the storm. The artwork comes to you in a tube as a Giclée pigment print on Hahnemühle Fine Art Baryta 325gsm archival paper. It a heavy weight fine art paper with a subtle gloss, ideal for prints with deep blacks and greys that are rich and high in contrast. The image artwork is grainy from the analogue film used. Edition of 20 + 2 AP Unframed Image size is 80cm x 54.3cm Print size is 90cm x 64.3cm as it includes a white border of 5cm on each side for easy framing. The print comes with a signed certificate of authenticity, and a label signed by artist with name of artist, piece and edition number, which can be affixed to the back when framed. Ships in a dent-resistant tube. Rolled works can easily be restretched. Framed is optional, contact curator@saatchiart.com if this is preferred and to enquire about the additional costs.

After completing a degree in finance at the Wharton School in Philadelphia, she furthered careers in journalism and advertising, moving between Berlin and Cape Town. Her art book on women and the female gaze "Librations" can be seen under the project sections.
