About The Artwork
This image for me is a symbol and a reminder of the transient nature of life. Set on the chalk cliffs of Seven Sisters in East Sussex (close to where I live), the house will at some point in the near future fall onto the beach below. The chalk cliffs erode at a steady rate each year. Life and everything that it contains will at some point go, everything is impermanent. That is also a reminder to live the richness of each moment, a reminder to be ever present in the here and now.

Vikram Kushwah is an India born photography artist based in England. He spent his formative years in boarding school in the hills of northern India. Vikram moved to London in 2008 for a PG diploma in photography at the London College of Communication before completing an MA in Photography at the University for the Creative Arts, Rochester in 2010. He has since been practicing in the UK and India between fashion, art, and portrait photography. He was shortlisted by the National Portrait Gallery, London for the Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize 2019. He was winner of Portrait of Humanity 2023, and Portrait of Britain 2018 and 2019 (awarded by the British Journal of Photography). His regular clients include Vogue, Harper's Bazaar and Elle magazines.
