Project: INTEROCEPTION / INTEROCEPTION https://beatrizglezsa.com/#/interoception-project/ Interoception and proprioception are two new senses recently discovered that are very important in Trauma healing and recovery therapies. Interoception is defined contemporaneously as the sense of the internal state of the body. The so-called “Post-traumatic stress disorder” and other conditions are linked to misrepresentations of internal states or a disconnect between the body's signals and the brain's interpretation and prediction of those signals. Interoception encompasses visceral signaling ("visceroception"), but more broadly relates to all physiological tissues that transmit a signal to the central nervous system about the current state of the body. Proprioception is mediated by proprioceptors, mechanosensory neurons located within muscles, tendons, and joints. It involves feeling the muscles and their position in space to create a general representation of the body's position, movement, and acceleration. Through the training of this sense (interoceptive) the internal reconnection is made possible and therefore the traumatic physical disconnection is weakened until it disappears with the re-established health as a result. Meditation and visualization techniques influence in this sense to gradually obtain and strengthen the essential emotional regulation that grants personal control and therefore, also gains a conscious state. It is a curative strategy of trauma and also preventive and protective of Trauma and other dysfunctions and emotional imbalances. The Aesthetic Experience that hopefully this work can provide, potentially facilitates, strengthens, accentuates this strategy. The images here presented seek to act on physiology and help people who suffer trauma as well as prevent it through the aesthetic experience in the same way they seek to promote this knowledge based on current science. This reasoning is based on the studies in neuroscience that the field of neuroesthetics has been carrying out. Project base of the Book “Curando el trauma a través del cuerpo. Para una cognición estética de la curación” ( “Healing trauma through the body. For an aesthetic cognition of healing”) (Spanish version) by Beatriz GlezSa. Available on amazon.
