Born in Charleston, South Carolina this award winning artist was exposed to a variety of art forms at a very early age. Picking up a camera almost 40 years ago he began capturing images of all types. "I like the fact that an image captured within a camera is recording something that will never be exactly like it is at that exact moment." After two decades of living all over the United States and traveling the world, Lee Walters retreated to the foothills of the Shenandoah's and started working on his photographic art work series of images. Recently relocated to the Colorado Springs, Colorado area, Lee is exploring new art forms, including movie/television production, and seeing where this new art form will take him. Not bound by limitations of color or technique, Lee spends hours on each piece, first capturing the image and then manipulating it through a variety of methods, none of which involve Photoshop, constantly revisiting the piece until the art lets him know when it needs no more. "I like to work in bold colors that jump off the page at the viewer. I also like to use dark backgrounds that cause separation between the image and its surrounding space." Now offering these one-of-a-kind and limited edition pieces for the first time, he hopes that others will see his vision and join the growing list of collectors that have invested in his very unique pieces. Lee's work is presently on display in several boutique hotels, independent restaurants, corporate boardrooms and the headquarters of the FBI in Washington, D.C., yes that FBI, as well as in the homes of several private collectors. "I want my collectors to have a unique piece that will only increase in value, will be conversation pieces, and will be art that they're proud to display. I like big pieces so you'll never see my images in small print sizes."
